Many years ago in a village there lived a poor man. The man's name was Franz. He made different wooden toys. These were birds, cats, dogs, horses, dolls.

Every Sunday Franz went to the fair to sell his goods. Unfortunately, he didn’t earn much because most of the people who lived there were poor. He saved the money to buy food.

One day was successful for him. That was Christmas time. The adults prepared gifts for the children and made surprises for them. It gave a lot of pleasant feelings to children.

A little wooden man was popular with the children because he helped people crack hard nuts. That's why they always put it on the Christmas table and put the nuts next to it.

There is an interesting tradition in Germany: whoever cracks the tough nut is the one who will be able to solve with the troubles of life. The people: old and young believed in it and cracked the nuts with the help of the nutcracker.

This year everything was as usual. Franz had sold almost all of the nutcrackers. He was happy, but he didn't sell the last nutcracker. The nutcracker had very small teeth, little legs and little hands. How unfortunate!
Слайд 9
Franz didn't have enough wood to make a normal figure, so the last nutcracker looked like this. It wasn't terrible, just nice and funny. His eyes were shining brightly.
Слайд 10
A little girl looked at this toy as if enchanted and smiled. He smiled at him too. The little girl told Nutcracker that she had no parents and no one gave her a present for Christmas. Such a sad story.

Franz heard this and gave the little girl not only the nutcracker, but also his dear friend. How happy the little girl was! Franz had never seen such a happy child! The man was also happy to bring the little human friend.
