My native village Derbetovka

Welcome to Derbetovka!
Every man has his own Motherland. It`s the place, where a man was born. May be this place is usual and uninteresting for other people, but for us it is the dearest place in the world. There is no place like home.

Derbetovka is a village of Apanasenkovsky district Stavropolsky region. The history of my village began in the 18th century. It was founded in 1863. Its first name was Sladkie Kopani because of good water in the wells. Later the village was renamed in Derbetovka. The name of the village comes from kalmyk word “four”.

You can see green fields, blue ponds and nice green gardens in Derbetovka. It is situated in the easten part of Stavropolski region. It is quite a big village. Its population is about 2.000 people. Our village is not far away from Stavropol and it takes only 2 hours to get to Stavropol. Our village has all basic services - a post-office, a secondary school, a hospital, a library and a house of culture. There are also a few shops which sell most of the things you need in our everyday life.

This is our school.
Our school was founded in 1932. The first director of the school was Poltorak Pyetr Danilovich. From 1949 until1954 the second director was Irchin Aleksey Trefilyevich. From 1954 Olga Pavlovna Grebenyuk became a director of the school. In 1982 was built a new two-storeyed building of school and its director was Anna Alekseyevna Kupaynskay. The school looks nice and lovely. The classrooms are well-equipped, have computers and the Internet. We are proud of our school.

School Museum of History is the main attraction of our school and village. It offers its visitors a lot of interesting excursions and exhibitions. The museum was founded in 1991. During your visit you will learn how our village appeared and how many nationalities live here. Moreover, you will learn about their way of life and culture. You`ll hear the information about animals and birds of our area. One of the main museum exhibitions is "Soldiers of the 20th century”. History lessons, meetings, festivals are often held in our museum. Children are always glad to meet you there.

Sport is very important in our life. It is popular among people of all ages because it helps them to keep fit. There are a lot of enthusiasts in our Derbetovka who train themselves in clubs and take part in sport competitions. All sportsmen become healthy and strong. Our school gymnasium invites them.

Near our school there is a beautiful park for relaxing.

You can visit a Memorial in the centre of Derbetovka. There is a memorial with the names of the natives of the village who died, defending our Motherland from the German fascists.

You can see a river Kalaus near our village. It is one of the largest rivers of Stavropolsky region. Its length is 436 kilometres. Is is not deep , but it is very turbid and dirty.

The House of culture plays an important role in the life of local people. Old and young talented people and teenagers sing songs and dance here. Also discos are held here.

If you travel by train, the first sight you will see is the train station. Trains went to Moscow and Elista from this station.

There is Pocrovskaya church in the centre of our village.

Family children’s home
On the 18 of June 2012 was opened Family children’s home. It is the most beautiful building in our village.
20 children live and learn here. It was built by our sponsors Uma and Omar Murtusalievs.

The people of my village are very hospitable, they are always glad to meet the guests.
Children’s festival “Raduga” was held in our village last year. It was held thanks to our sponsor Omar Magomedowish Myrtusaliev.
Many famous singers and dancers took part in this festival.

This place is for those people who are looking for peace and a lovely rural environment. So, if you want to walk on a carpet of meadows and flowers in spring or fish in our ponds , Derbetovka is just this place, which you must visit!

Problems Proposals
We won’t say that everything is perfect in our village. Our village shares similar problems with other villages and small towns. There aren’t possibilities for getting a well-paid job. Our village is not clean enough. The fields near Derbetovka are polluted with litter.
It is necessary to build a good stadium. It is possible to organize different excursions for tourists. It is important to build plants and factories to develop our village. For realization of these plans it is very important to have wish, to be active and clever.
