Icons: A Portrait Of Russia

I would like to start by saying that the idea of this project is to nominate Russian icons in order to show a national identity. Icon is something of special importance in Russian culture, history and way of life. I believe that the most basic icons are:

Many people grow potatoes in their gardens. Potato is often considered to be a main dish. Although, sometimes, Russian people eat potatoes with salt, meat, salad or fish, using it as a garnish.

Foreign games are becoming more popular in Russia. But our children are still playing Russian games, for example snowballs. Many foreign sports are similar to the Russian ones. These sports differ in inventory and rules, for example, box.
